Description

A European White-tailed Eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla), also known as a Sea Eagle sweeps around to to line up on its intended prey in Scotland. The White-tailed Eagle is Scotland's largest bird of prey. It was illegally hunted to extinction in Scotland by the beginning of the 20th century. Thanks to a very successful reintroduction programme started in 1975 using young birds from Norway there are now almost 40 breeding pairs, mostly on the west coast, but also in Fife.
